I Paint With Pigments that look like Crayons

I begin painting by choosing a bright white sheet of Archival Paper that is Hot Press which is smooth to the eye and touch unlike cold press which has bumps or texture on the surface.

The 140 pound paper weight provides enough thickness for the needed layers to begin the basic structure of the piece.
If the paper is too thin, it simply won’t absorb the pigments correctly.
Playing with the foreground and surface color adds dimension and saturation to the surface which means that the colors that come forward are a different hue then the ones that recede

I often use black and white as a sort of yin and yang struggle in my work seeking to balance the play between dark and light.

Each swirl and arc is a process of painstaking baby steps.

To understand that it has been and that it has arrived is the very nature of the creating artist.

It is not a stagnant moment from one completed piece to the next. It is
a continuous conversation.

Hearing the grass shake for minutes and possibly hours ... and fading away with it

Finding the Tao

For all the years I have studied and yearned to better understand the life in and around me ... nothing answer the questions better than Tao

I have been in a bit of a creative rut lately and that is to be expected at least from my perspective, I have been an artist for more than 20 years.

What does the Tao say: You have to go find it, sometimes you have to run to catch up with it, sometimes just changing your perspective for a day can renew and restore and the journey renews itself.

Finding the element or combination of elements that spurs Tao on is an art form in an of itself.

Today, I am patient. Small bursts of Tao ebb and flow throughout my day but no great wave. I attempt to compose myself, clean my space, ignore what is important and settle on what is the least to do.

Tao says, do without doing and all will get done. I am too busy trying right now to see it and merely play games with myself until I relinquish control and flow again with it's great mighty power.

I look at the pictures now of that famous day and realize that hatred was the goal. For those who seek those ends .... it is an endless vat of energy.

For those of us who rise and set with forgiveness and grace ....

Rules and propriety arise from this darkness constricting the hearts and minds of humanity forcing the souls to a hiding place.

Life becomes chaotic

Great men lecture you on your faults complicating simple things until they are barely recognizable

and you don't know which way to turn

What is this constant belching of posts really doing for us?

After some 20 or so years on and around the internet I finally became aware that people who produce posts merely to sell stuff have become the backbone for the introduction and improved progression of technology. In fact technology spends a lot of time in the posts and out of this great trend is an unfortunate and somewhat sad situation.

People Aren't Encouraged to Talk anymore or discuss or ponder other that the topic given by the oracle of the provider.

It seems that most are asked to agree and comment positively, else get the snort from the various commentators.

This feigned politeness squelches the spiritual growth essential to all of us.

We are constantly asked to obey and respond. It feels sometimes like a giant hammer is about to crash down if one doesn't count the great drama of a post or idea as sacred. I do not mean to intimate that one shouldn't be polite, but so much of the information is market driven and has only that goal in mind.

What is this constant belching of posts really doing for us?

People may say, well then don't follow me or cancel the option of the post, but aren't I then cancelling the opportunity for connection and interaction? Is it always a need of yes or no and not what makes a satisfying experience?

I guess mainly it is not YES this is RIGHT or no that is wrong, it's more the essential greed that comes into play every time my attention is demanded for something not really so healthy for the rest of me. If I am interested, shouldn't I be able to be?
